The preservative-free solutions are less likely to cause any discomfort or irritation than most other solutions, however do also need to be neutralised after use, just in case there’s any remaining peroxide which could provide harmful to your eyes.

There are two ways in which you can neutralise your lenses after you’ve disinfected them with hydrogen peroxide solution. You can either use a contact lens case that features a built-in neutraliser (these are often provided with packs of peroxide solution), or you can add a neutralising tablet to the solution, which will ensure all leftover hydrogen peroxide is eliminated.
