new linkHydrogen peroxide solutions provide a deeper clean of
contact lenses than
multi-purpose solutions and are particularly popular amongst lens wearers with sensitive eyes.
The preservative-free solutions are less likely to cause any discomfort or irritation than most other solutions, however do also need to be neutralised after use, just in case there’s any remaining peroxide which could provide harmful to your eyes.
There are two ways in which you can neutralise your lenses after you’ve disinfected them with hydrogen peroxide solution. You can either use a contact lens case that features a built-in neutraliser (these are often provided with packs of peroxide solution), or you can add a neutralising tablet to the solution, which will ensure all leftover hydrogen peroxide is eliminated.
You’ll find a wide range of hydrogen peroxide solutions available at FeelGoodContacts.ie for the cheapest prices. These include
AOsept Solution and
EasySept Solution, which are both packaged alongside contact lens cases that feature built-in neutralisers. If, however, the lens case you’re using doesn’t have this feature, then try a neutralising tablet like
Ultrazyme Universal Protein Cleaner to make sure your lenses are safe to wear.
